The design of the future facilities and educational programs of the Forest Ecology Educational Center are managed by ARCPROSPECT International Foundation of architects and design professionals. The future 36,000 sq. ft facility will feature permanent and temporary interactive exhibits, green living exhibitions as well as applications in the center’s design, indoor and outdoor nature observatories, and spaces for assembly for environmental addresses, offices for scientific reporting and environmental data analysis, a shop to purchase items, a cafe and an outdoor gathering area.
The Ecology Forest Education Center will work as a model of energy-efficient environmental architecture. Following the natural trees terrain, the proposed design of the building appears to nestle in the landscape on the edge of a forest preserve. Its function within a conservation area suggests that the natural environment requires proactive, protective intervention.
