Forest Ecology Education Center - Study 12009 Concept:The environment is so fundamental to our continued existence that it must rise above politics and become a central value of all members of society. We forget that as biological beings we are as dependent on clear air and water, uncontaminated soil and biodiversity as any other creature. The heart of this program is the scientifically supported fact that each of us is quite literally created by air, water, soil and sunlight, and what cleanses and renews these fundamental elements of life is the eco-web of living things on the planet. “Eco” comes from the Greek word oikos, meaning home. Ecology is the study of home. The challenge of our goal today is to put the “eco” back into economics and every aspect of our lives.
