PAUL N. POLOZ
OWNER, PRINCIPAL & LEAD ARCHITECT/DESIGNER
Paul studied art & architecture in Europe and American architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Paul practiced architecture under leading architects such as Walter Carlson, AIA, FAIA, Dobrin & Associates, Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Assos., and Japanese architect Tadao Ando and he has worked on numerous significant national and international projects.
In year of 2000 Paul founded Poloz & Makris Architects, Ltd. (Poloz Architects Studio). As an artist, architect, and entrepreneur, Paul has always strived to embody in his work the talent, innovation, intelligent design, the spiritual elements of culture, and respect to the surrounding living world. During 25 years of experience, he worked on a wide range of projects and demonstrated a proven ability to create holistic, unique and long-lasting design.
DAMIAN TOMASHEVICH (PARTNER)
REPRESENTATIVE IN EASTERN EUROPE
Educated in art and architecture in Europe and US, Damian has over 20 years of experience as a manager of construction, designer, and architect in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been a partner of Poloz Architects for the last decade and has worked with multidisciplinary teams to engage clients in a highly collaborative manner. As PA’s representative in Eastern Europe, Damian continues to be personally involved in most of the firm’s projects, ensuring that each project benefits from his considerable experience and knowledge. Damian’s broad spectrum of project experience includes high-end residential design, construction consulting and administration, historic preservation, adaptive re-use, interior design, commercial, educational and mixed-use developments in the Europe and US.
GREGORY MAKRIS (PARTNER)
DIRECTOR OF ARCHITECTURE (MIDWEST)
Greg is a talented architect with 25 years of experience and has great skill in both technical design and project management. His ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams is demonstrated by numerous highly complex projects, including mixed-use developments, healthcare facilities, and churches. Since 2006, he has served as partner and director on a variety of projects. He was involved and completed the 777 Club, a $75 million multifamily development, as the largest mixed-use project in the village of Niles. Greg holds a MA of Architecture from the University of the State of New York.
DANIEL POLOZ (PARTNER)
DIRECTOR OF PLANNING (MIDWEST)
Dan’s passion for architecture is evidenced by his distinctive approach to considering each aspect of a project, from integrating design teams to optimizing building systems at every level. He contributes five years of experience to Poloz Architects from the AIA award winning firms Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill LLP and AIA National Healthcare Design award winner, Canon Design. Dan’s architectural practices reveal his aptitude for responding to the evolution of project delivery methods while ensuring the highest value solution unique to each client and project. He has also played a great role in significant single family, healthcare, skyscrapers, commercial, and mixed-use new development and revitalization. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
TRANG NGUYEN (PARTNER)
DIRECTOR OF ARCHITECTURE (VIETNAM AND EAST ASIA)
Trang studied at Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) and has decade of experience working for several Architectural firms in Hue delivering national and international architectural projects in Vietnam, Germany and USA.
Since 2022 Trang has been working for Poloz Architects through all stages of design and delivering the architectural projects from design concepts to the completion of construction documents.
She and her team is the part of ongoing project like Museum of Ancient Medicine, Serbian Orthodox Church in Mt. Pleasant Wisconsin, Russian-Vietnamese Cultural Center in Vietnam and Vietnamese-Russian Cultural Center in Russia.
