PAUL N. POLOZ
PRINCIPAL & LEAD DESIGNER (CALIFORNIA)

Paul Poloz is an artist and a gifted designer who embodies intellectual curiosity with a talent to integrate cultural, spiritual and environmental values and aspirations while creating innovative ideas. He studied art, architecture and urban planning in Europe and US. His 20 years portfolio of work on a wide range of public and private division projects demonstrates a proven ability to deliver holistic and enduring design solutions. For more than five years, he worked as a researcher and practitioner in the field of the preservation of historical churches. His research and expertise also comes from his continuous studies of applied arts, philosophy, and eastern & western cultures, which also influence his approach to all his architectural projects. He studied architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology. Paul founded Poloz Architects in 2000, and prior to establishing his firm he worked for award winning architects including Walter Carlson AIA, FAIA, Dobrin & Associates, Gensler, and Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Assos. He is very sensitive to the issues of the natural environment and the preservation of life, culture, and art.

DAMIAN TOMASHEVICH (PARTNER)
REPRESENTATIVE IN EASTERN EUROPE

Educated in art and architecture in Europe and US, Damian has over 20 years of experience as a manager of construction, designer, and architect in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been a partner of Poloz Architects for the last decade and has worked with multidisciplinary teams to engage clients in a highly collaborative manner. As PA’s representative in Eastern Europe, Damian continues to be personally involved in most of the firm’s projects, ensuring that each project benefits from his considerable experience and knowledge. Damian’s broad spectrum of project experience includes high-end residential design, construction consulting and administration, historic preservation, adaptive re-use, interior design, commercial, educational and mixed-use developments in the Europe and US.

GREGORY MAKRIS (PARTNER)
DIRECTOR OF ARCHITECTURE (MIDWEST)

Greg is a talented architect with 25 years of experience and has great skill in both technical design and project management. His ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams is demonstrated by numerous highly complex projects, including mixed-use developments, healthcare facilities, and churches. Since 2006, he has served as partner and director on a variety of projects. He was involved and completed the 777 Club, a $75 million multifamily development, as the largest mixed-use project in the village of Niles. Greg holds a MA of Architecture from the University of the State of New York.

DANIEL POLOZ (PARTNER)
DIRECTOR OF PLANNING (MIDWEST)

Dan’s passion for architecture is evidenced by his distinctive approach to considering each aspect of a project, from integrating design teams to optimizing building systems at every level. He contributes five years of experience to Poloz Architects from the AIA award winning firms Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill LLP and AIA National Healthcare Design award winner, Canon Design. Dan’s architectural practices reveal his aptitude for responding to the evolution of project delivery methods while ensuring the highest value solution unique to each client and project. He has also played a great role in significant single family, healthcare, skyscrapers, commercial, and mixed-use new development and revitalization. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

MILAD ISAAC (ARCHITECT)
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

Milad is one of the most affirmative figures of the firm. He has been part of the PA team since 2014. Milad brings Poloz Architects six years of experience in design development and construction documents of high-rise buildings in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as well as his commitment to excellence in design, and a deep joy in working with PA team. Milad received a Bachelor degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture at Aleppo University.
