2008 – Atlas Software Technologies

Location:  Kolkata, India

We designed a new 368,000 sq.ft.commercial tower for Atlas Software Technologies India, a world-class technology consulting and software
development outsourcing company. The tower would provide Retail on the ground floor, leasable office space (with the top floors being owned
by Atlas Software), and four stories of underground parking.

The client desired to design the 24-story self-sustainable office tower that employs new technology such as solar, wind, and geothermal heating and cooling systems. The new system will save a significant amount of money over its lifecycle in energy and maintenance cost. The building is designed with natural air ventilation as exterior windows are opened in a certain way that lets in streams of air that move through the central atrium, which reaches the roof. Each office features a projecting glazed pod, which offers views over the city and provides a sense of connection with the weather and the changing seasons. The balcony enclosures serve as an important architectural element of the building and in the same work as solar protection.
